Kristin and I have now been married 30 years. And it keeps getting better. We’re grateful that both of our children have married wonderful partners. And we are more than two years into grand-parenthood, a surprisingly rich season of life. We had no idea.
We’ve been progressing intentionally down a path of increasing simplicity, downsizing from a regular sized house (2700 square feet plus garage and .33 acre lot) to a 1365 square foot condo, to a 984 sq foot condo. We spent a few months back in our Okanagan condo but are now settled in a small but comfortable basement suite in north central British Columbia.
Kristin and I are currently in Prince George, BC, having left our place down south in the hands of some friends. I’ve just started my fourth role as “transitional pastor” in which we work to lead a church through the season between Lead Pastors. It’s a combination of organizational leadership, crisis management, consulting and team building. It pushes me to use everything I’ve learned over the years in my speaking and leadership roles.
Somewhere on this page you should see some info about my life-planning/goal-setting book Release, which has been out for a few years and which continues to benefit many people. Due to the requests I’ve received over the years I developed an online course which can can learn about via the email series offered here.
You can also find a page about my book DNA of a Christ Follower, which highlights 8 non-negotiable character traits for people who claim to identify themselves as followers of Jesus Christ. Too often the focus is on what a Christ Follower does or doesn’t do. This book focuses on character, since our actions flow from who we are. A surprising number of people call themselves “Christian” without actually following Christ or displaying his character. This book is intended as a challenge to that trend.
My blog contains more regular updates and assorted thoughts on issues of faith, leadership, marketing and life. Feel free to leave comments on any of the diverse things discussed herein.
