This is my personal site that highlights both my writing and family events. The two are often related!
Kristin and I have been married almost 30 years. And it keeps getting better. We are so grateful to have seen both our children marry wonderful partners in the past couple years, our first grandchild Rhys show up in February of 2015, and a little sister expected for her in 2016.
Since 2011 we have been progressing intentionally down a path of increasing simplicity, downsizing from a regular sized house (2700 share feet plus garage and .33 acre lot) to a 1365 square foot condo, and now to a 984 sq foot condo. And we love it. You can watch for a related book before too long perhaps…
Kristin and I are currently living in Fort St. John, BC, in the beautiful Peace River area. We lived in the other corner of this region in Valleyview, Alberta from 1990-96, so this feels a lot like coming home. I am engaged in my third role as “transitional pastor” in which we work to lead a church through the season between two Lead Pastors, often with accompanying varying levels of crisis. It is a combination of pastoral leadership, consulting and team building which utilizes everything I have learned over the years in my speaking and leadership roles.
Somewhere on this page you should see some info about my life-planning/goal-setting book Release, which has been out for a few years but which continues to benefit many people. Due to the requests I have received over the years I am developing some supplementary study and application materials, though the email series you get when you download a free digital version is quite comprehensive in itself.
The print copies of my new book DNA of a Christ Follower, which highlights 8 non-negotiable character traits for people who claim to identify themselves as followers of Jesus Christ, showed up in December, with the official publication date being January 1, 2016. Too often the focus is on what a Christ Follower does or doesn’t do; this book focuses on character, since our actions flow from who we are. A surprising number of people call themselves “Christian” without actually following Christ or displaying his character. This book is intended as a challenge to that trend.
